The frontend should feel fast to scan, familiar to social-product users, and structured enough to support dense community activity.

Primary screens#

Home feed#

  • persistent left navigation for feed, groups, events, and saved items
  • center column with composer, stories or announcements, and ranked posts
  • right rail for birthdays, upcoming events, and suggested groups

Profile#

  • cover media and identity summary above the fold
  • tabs for posts, about, photos, friends, and groups
  • compact action row for message, friend request, and invite actions

Group surfaces#

  • group header with membership context and moderators
  • activity feed scoped to the group
  • upcoming event modules and quick invite actions

Messaging#

  • conversation list plus active thread
  • presence indicators
  • attachment composer with lightweight media preview

Interaction priorities#

  • Keep composition fast with optimistic post creation.
  • Preserve hierarchy between feed content and chrome.
  • Let notification affordances feel visible without becoming noisy.
  • Design admin and moderation tools as operational surfaces, not consumer feed cards.
